چکیده

Nowadays, underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) are known as a powerful technique for aquatic applications. UWNS has long propagation delay, limited bandwidth and higher error rates in comparison with ground based networks. Moreover, a terrestrial wireless communication uses radio waves, but underwater communication relies on acoustic waves. Similar to other wireless sensor networks, design of low delay and energy efficient routing protocols are great challenges in UWSN. In this paper, a new routing protocol for underwater wireless sensor acoustic network is presented called DBURP. The major design goals of DBURP are delay efficiency and low energy consumption. Simulations was carried out in Aqua-Sim, an NS2 based underwater simulator, and the evaluation results confirm that the proposed DBURP performs better than the original DBR in terms of average end to end delay, packet delivery ratio and energy saving.

Distance based Routing Scheme for Underwater Sensor Networks

Underwater Sensor Networks (UWSN) are gaining increasing importance. The main constituents of UWSN are Static Acoustic sensor nodes and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles. The sensor nodes located in a particular depth are to pass the data to the sinks. As acoustic transmission range is limited, the information has to be routed via many hops. We are proposing a distance based routing scheme for suc...

Void Avoidance in Three-Dimensional Mobile Underwater Sensor Networks

Mobile underwater sensor networks are usually featured with three-dimensional topology, high node mobility and long propagation delays. For such networks, geographic routing has been shown to be very suitable. However, routing voids pose great challenges on the greedy policy used in most geographic routing protocols. The problem is more severe for underwater sensor networks because of node mobi...

Multipath Node-Disjoint Routing with Backup List Based on the AODV Protocol

In recent years, routing has been the most focused area in ad hoc networks research. On-demand routing in particular, is widely developed in bandwidth constrained mobile wireless ad hoc networks because of its effectiveness and efficiency. Most proposed on-demand routing protocols are built and relied on single route for each data session. Whenever there is a link disconnection on the active ro...
